Category - Borgi

What they are:
The Borgi is a designer cross between a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and a Border Collie (or sometimes a Cardigan mix), aiming to combine the Corgi’s compact, long-bodied build and cheerful nature with the Border Collie’s intelligence and herding instincts. Size tends to be small-to-medium with a sturdy frame, and coat length varies from short to medium with common colorings such as sable, black-and-white and tri-color.

Temperament:
Borgis are energetic, loyal and highly trainable. They inherit strong herding instincts and sharp minds, so they often excel at learning cues and participating in dog sports. They also enjoy close family interaction and can be protective of household members. Early training and socialization help balance their herding drive with calm household manners.

Care and exercise:
Daily exercise is important—long walks, play sessions and mental challenges like obedience or nosework help channel their energy. Grooming needs depend on coat thickness; routine brushing keeps shedding under control. Health checks should monitor hips, eyes and back health, especially due to a Corgi’s long back.

Best suited for:
Active families or individuals who want a smart, trainable companion that enjoys work and play. Borgis are excellent for owners who will invest time in training, exercise and mental enrichment.
