By accessing or using Pup Near You (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

• You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and able to form a binding contract.
• You may need an account to create listings or contact other users. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account.
• Please notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Listings & User-Generated Content

• You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of any content you submit (including text, photos, pricing, and location).
• By posting content, you grant Pup Near You a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site.
• Pup Near You does not endorse or guarantee any users, listings, breeders, shelters, rescues, or transactions. Interactions are at your own risk; perform your own due diligence.
• We may edit, refuse, or remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, at our discretion.

4. Prohibited Conduct

• Posting false, misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive content.
• Violating any laws or regulations, including animal welfare, consumer protection, advertising, and licensing rules.
• Infringing intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
• Harassment, hate speech, abusive behavior, or discrimination.
• Scraping, crawling, or using automated means to access the Site without permission.
• Attempting to interfere with the Site’s security or functionality.

5. Animal Welfare & Compliance

• All listings must comply with applicable animal welfare laws, breeder licensing requirements, transport/export rules, and any breed-specific regulations.
• No listings for illegal activities, stolen animals, or prohibited species/breeds as defined by local law.
• Health claims (e.g., “vaccinated,” “dewormed”) must be truthful and documented upon request.
• We encourage in-person meetups in safe, public locations, and verification of health records and breeder/shelter credentials.

6. Transactions, Payments & Fees

• Unless expressly stated, Pup Near You is a listing and discovery platform and is not a party to transactions between users.
• Any fees for premium listings, promotions, or services will be disclosed at checkout or in your dashboard. Fees are generally non-refundable unless required by law.
• Users are responsible for applicable taxes, permits, and compliance obligations.
• Chargebacks, disputes, or refunds between users must be resolved by the parties; Pup Near You may, but is not obligated to, assist.

7. No Veterinary or Legal Advice

Information on the Site is for general informational purposes only and does not constitute veterinary, legal, or professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

8. Intellectual Property

• The Site and its contents (excluding user content) are owned by or licensed to Pup Near You and are protected by intellectual property laws.
• You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site except as permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

9. Third-Party Links & Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services. Pup Near You is not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and you access them at your own risk.
